Stance

The stance is the writer’s attitude toward a topic and it’s usually shown in the thesis statement of a paper. It’s important for the audience to know where the writer stands on the topic they’re writing about and knowing my stance on a topic has helped me recognize what exactly I wanted to let the audience know. For example, in one of my projects, I decided to write about autism awareness and my stance was showing parents how important it is to be knowledgeable about autism. By knowing my stance, I figured out how to gear my writing toward parents and what information to add to make sure they realize how important it was.
